Forgot about this world

Hello there,

It's been a while and I had totally forgotton that this little online space existed. So much has happened since that last post in 2007. The cats have won two premierships, but are looking like being denied a third at this late stage of the season:(
Anyway, my blogging sign in password has been recovered and I now have access to this again. Although it would be strange if anyone were to read this! Hehehe.

Cheers,

Ingrid:)

Poignant Thoughts

Well what Poignant thoughts to I have tonight. Not too many.

I will start my journey to be a Primary School Teacher on Feb 26th. I got into Latrobe unis Dip Ed and I'm looking forward to the year. I still will teach music privately and that is a great thrill and joy. The performing side of things has slowed down greatly. I still play at home, but I'm more inclined to go and see live gigs than have a desire to perform myself. I think these things go in waves, or most definately my moods do.

The Summer holidays have been unreal. I've been to the beach more times in the last month than the past few years which has been unreal. I tried lying on a surfboard and that reinforces that my destiny is with a boogie board. I also bought my first wet suit, I'm really serious now.

It's back to reality next week with some work starting again, but I am up for enjoying the last weekend of pure freedom.

cheers,

Ingrid:)

The little things in life

I spend a fair bit of time in my little grey car driving through town. My mind gets lots of time to wander and one my my consitently topics is people. I think you can tell a lot about people by the little things they do, and this is true to behaviour while driving. I'm a big fan of the thankyou wave. It's the little acknowledgement you give to another driver for letting you turn out of your parking space and back into the traffic, or to the driver who slows down to help you merge rather than hit the accelerates to cut you off.
I probably do it too often, and multiple times if I've been stressed whilst trying to merge and overly grateful, but I think it's important.
I don't always get the wave, and that agitates me. The other day on the way home from work I decided I was in no hurry so tried extra hard to let people in front of me. Ah so much love from those little waves. But I did learn never to let a tradesmen in front of me because they can't wave and smoke their ciggies at the same time.

cheers,

Ingrid.

Service and Standards

I think more and more these days that the consuming dollar needs to go to businesses that deserve it. Customer Service is almost a dirty word these days, and businesses that go against that trend are the ones that deserve the disposable income dollar more.
Erin has opened my world up to not just throw my hard earned dollars to anyone. I'd rather now by a sausage from a local school sports fund than from subway to pay their manager their millions. I tried to buy a spare bike tyre from a bike shop today but wasn't even acknowledged as I waited by the counter for a minute so I said stuff it and took my dollar elsewhere.
Meanwhile I'll keep buying kebabs from my local shop that knows I have lamb, lettuce, tomato and no sauce. Ah quality.
cheers,
Also i've been mucking around with my own myspace site www.myspace.com/ingridnoack . have a look and let me know what you think of the tracks.

We have new music to showcase and are very excited!

Sunday, July 30, 2006

Well it's nearly the end of July which means the days when my car windows are covered with ice are on their way to drawing to a close. I hate the cold. This year I have taken to wearing a scarf to work everyday. I'm pretty uninspired about what to write on the blog but I have been harassed to provide an update.

cheers,

Ingrid:)

Time for some big news

Well finally I am leaving the nest at home and venturing out to the.......neighbouring suburb. On July 3rd my new residence will be in Heidelberg Heights instead of Heidelberg.

On another exciting note it's only hours until synergys (Megan and my) debut CD is released. We had a our final rehearsal tonight ready for the gig tomorrow. Very exciting.

And my 3rd exciting news for the day is it's only two weeks until Erin and I are off to Queensland to escape frosty Melbourne. Ah, day dreaming about it now.

Now it's time to go to bed and wake up for work. Argh my Friday 'road trip' to Footscray for the day.

cheers,

Ingrid:)

Jen Cloher

Jen Cloher performing at the Spanish Club Posted by Picasa

This is a photo of the lovely Jen Cloher from last Friday. I'm becoming a phone photo pro and can finally put them on the computer. I was very excited. It looks more like the fuzzy ghost of Jen than her actual self but it highlights how close we were to the stage. She was awesome, highly recommended!!

cheers,

Ingrid:)

Erin finishing the marathon!! (without collasping...phew) Posted by Picasa

Erin ran the Canberra marathon last weekend on the April 9th. The course was lovely and scenic and the weather a dream for the big big day. I spent the morning wandering around the track trying to spot her so I could hand out sports gels and drinks. Suprisingly the time flew and it was a buzz seeing all the other runners and also the support for them.
The photo is of a very nice and fulfilling moment for Erin as she crosses the finish line 4 hours and 35 minutes after starting at 7am in the morning. . I spend about an hour at the finish line watching the runners come in. The worst moment was seeing about 5 runners absolutely sprint home to try and break the four hour mark with one collasping, and the other 4 in not very good condition after that. Most runners were pretty comfortable coming home with big grins on their faces. That night Canberra seemed overrun with groups of runners hydrating with beverages other than water.
