Victorian Teacher games training Day 1
As I am now technically a teacher I am able to participate in the Victorian Teachers games this year up in Wodonga! Since I have stopped training with cricket I've been a bit slack on the exercise so thought this would act as good motivation. I have decided to enter the 10km run and possibly golf, table tennis, maybe some lawn bowls or ten pin bowling too. I am trying to con my teacher Mum into competing in the 4km walk but it might be just abit soon after her hip replacement, doesn't hurt to ask. From the above list it's obvious there is only the one event that will take much physical effort to complete. I have completed a 10km run before but that was about three years ago after a full pre-season of cricket fitness training, so it will be a bit harder this time.
I went on my first training run today and took my ipod along to suss out some good running music. The last 10km run I did took me 63 minutes. So I'm thinking I will need a good 15 songs to listen to while I'm running up in Wodonga. Songs that worked today were Avril Lavignes' Skater Boi' and abit of techno from Alice Deejay, one that didn't work was Bryan Adams and "Everything I do I do it for you", I think i nearly slowed down to a walk during that so I skipped it before I stopped!
My task for the next few weeks is to get a good playlist together for the event come late September. Any running music suggestions will be very much welcomed!!
cheers,
Ingrid:)
