Wonderful Tassie
Ah two days in Tassie and I'm loving it! I landed in Launceston without any fog delays which is rare as they divert about four flights a week to Hobart as they can't land in Launy. The Virgin Blue staff on arrival said "Welcome to Launceston, welcome home or enjoy your day at work". Seems that they don't think anyone would come for a 'holiday' to Launceston.!!The sun is shining especially for me and I am yet to get frost bite. Jake lives on the top of one of the many hills around the city of Launceston and once the fog clears in the morning it is a great sight!
Yesterday we went on a 380km 'day trip' to Hobart to check it out. Our planned departure time of 7.30am whizzed past and we hit the road at 11am. The Hobart weather turned itself on and we drove up an almost cloud free Mt Wellington (later found out max temp up the top was one degrees) and it was absolutely awesome. We had a race to the highest point on the mountain which Jake initiated when he was 10 meteres ahead of me, but I found a short cut and much to his horror beat him up there, just had to mention that!!!! We're not competitive at all.....
Jake was busting to check out the Bellreieve oval and we found it... eventually, (surely the dirt track along the river is the main thouroughfare to the ground......). Must say after seeing it close up that it does look a lot better on tele. The gates were open so we snuck onto the ground to have a look around which was pretty nifty.
That night we hit the oldest casino in Australia at Crest point. Good old Tassie Club keno shouted us dinner and some Boags with a $45 win with the lucky numbers of 10, 23 and 44.
Our day trip did technically end at 1am when we arrived home. Must actually wake up when alarm goes next time.
Another Sunny Tassie day ahead.

Glad to hear you are having such a fantastic time over there Ingi! I can't wait to get there on Wednesday. Wish I could be there at the same time you are. Sounds like you are having a ball. I'll call you, and you can tell me more!
