What a Week

Go the Cats!!!! Finally a premiership cups (of sorts) to take back to Kardina Park. I watched the final at the sports bar in at crown and it was heaven. Cricket on one big screen, Commonwealth games on the one next to it, and the footy on the big screen next to that. A dream for a multi tasker (ie short attention span) sports fan like me.
I wish I could work out how to transfer photos from my phone to my computer as there are some pearlers from around Melbourne town. Last night I saw a percussion spectacular at the Myer music bowl with percussion artists from all around the world. It blew me away and I actually found myself dancing (which is a rarity). Then strolling along the Yarra there was a rock band from Canada who doubled as circus acts and played their rock music whilst doing flips, hanging upside down and flying around. Very very cool. Erin and I went to the Docklands earlier in the day to see what was going on down there but it was pretty dull. Just a concrete jungle with not much atmosphere at all, much better in the heart of the city.
Tonight it's off to the MCG to my first games event to hopefully see Mottram blitz the field in the 5000m run. Very exciting. Tomorrow it's off to St Kilda to check out the road cycling time trial and the atmosphere in St Kilda.

cheers from an excited blogger,

Ingrid:)

Wow

I have to admit in the lead up to the commonwealth games i didn't really care too much about it and all the events and activities going on in the city. I was just planning on using the school holidays to catch up with stuff and potter around. Erin tried to show me the guide to the Melbourne festival which is running concurrently with the games but I brushed it off. Well......Now I apologise as now the games are here I can't get enough of it. I went into the city last night with the family for Mums birthday and it was awesome. There was live music everywhere and street performers, big screens showing the action everywhere and beer sold everywhere. So now I plan to spend nearly everynight checking out what's going on. There are some awesome free concerts at the Myer music bowl, and random events everywhere. I am excited, it has taken a while but I am in the spirit now. I'm checking out the Athletics next week and looking forward to seeing the MCG in a different light.

Bring it on and go Aussies.

cheers,

Ingrid:)

Hello

Who'd have thought I'd get request to keep my blog updated. I have been pretty bad with it, but life has been pretty hectic which is a good way for life to be.

Teaching is going well. I'm working full time now which is testing my energy levels, but I am loving it and the kids are really rewarding to work with. Some days are full on with teaching at a school during the day, then private kids at home but I am managing everything ( and enjoying) it all thus far. My band with Megan has been put on the back burner lately but we are reuniting for a gig late March to perform with other bands at a birthday party which will be pretty cool and we are looking forward to it!

Working with Mum at Heidelberg Primary school has been fun. We hung in the staff room together last week with my old grade 3 and 4 teacher, hehe.

Go the cats. I know the pre season footy comp doesn't mean much, but it's been awhile since Geelong has been able to celebrate anything so bring it on.

cheers,

Ingrid:)
